Interaction with the community: The website serves as the gateway for individuals wishing to learn more about the Seeking Solutions EAST Lab. The EAST Website Project has impacted the community by providing examples of student projects and evidence of student learning, curriculum links, and a history of the EAST activities. The EAST web page is also the example for the national EAST organization, which puts us out into the national EAST community, as an example for other E.A.S.T schools. The site provides publicity for our sponsors by listing there names and showing the community that they are generous to a good cause. It also gives new east students an example of what we can accomplish by working to together with the community. The website will also put information out to the community about upcoming projects, fundraisers, dinners, and events that are happening in EAST.

Teamwork: I am involved in the EHS EAST Web page team and my partner is Sam Gentle. We separate the projects that we do, by what are strengths and weaknesses are, and by what Obstacles occur. For example, I am a good organizer, so I started to organize the binder. Sam is good at Photoshop and is very artistic, so he made the poster. We are in different periods, so communicating is one of the issues that we face. We have solved it bye using e-mail and letters that go into the binder. By working together we accomplish more. Just this week we hade a couple of deadlines, so we separated the deadlines (PowerPoint and binder). We assigned each other one of the two and finished both quicker than we needed, giving us time for our conference applications

Problem solving: Last year, when I was working on the Center Lawn Improvement Project, we encountered many problems. The main problem was getting it approved by the school board, the paperwork was all mixed up and the school board only meets once a month. However after it was approved, there was the other major drawback of the sprinkler system, which went right under the sight were we were going to build the structure. With the sprinkler system issue, we could not solve it by asking for help, we hade to call up the grounds keeper for eureka city schools and talk about how we would get around, or change the sprinkler system. However this took too much time and the project didn’t get completed

Collaboration: My for the EHS EAST webpage is will be Mr. Perry, for after school learning classes for Dreamweaver and Eureka Adult School, for more advanced classes in Dreamweaver. In Center Lawn Improvement project I hade many contacts. I would like to thank the Eureka city school board for approving the project, Mr. Grinch for advice and collaboration through the project, Mrs. Kunkler for help with paperwork and Robert Steeves for help with the sprinkler system.

Use of technology: The EAST web page project uses many different programs. We use dreamweaver for the websites publishing and building, flash for the intro, buttons, movies and anything else that has some for of movie, or motion effect to it. We use Photoshop for the design and image creation of the web pages and Microsoft office for peoples PowerPoint and typing of anything. We know basics in all of the programs and advanced knowledge in Photoshop and Microsoft office.

Student growth: I have worked on many projects thought my two years in EAST, at Winship was involved differently in projects, including The Center Lawn Improvement Project I did the logo designs, contacts and was the group leader. In PowerPoint design for conference I was the only person the in the project, so I did everything. For the EHS EAST lab website, I hope to be the organizer, binder-update person and anything else that comes our way. In Project R.I.M.E. I think that I am going to be the only person, so I will do everything. I might also be involved in the booth designs for conference project. Thought all of these projects I have learned things that other classes haven’t, some of witch are: to speak to others more easily, become a better public speaker and apply myself to something without giving up. I have also become more skilled and trained in different programs, including macromedia, Microsoft office, and Photoshop. I think I have come far since last year.
